I don't understand what is your intention...
E: But judging for the section in which this topic was posted, I guess you're trying to get Roger to "fix" that? Oh, what I would give to have autentic online co-op in Halo CE... I doubt that's going to happen.

Re: AI sync on multiplayer servers
Well it looks like some features like coop are "incomplete" or "broken", so I think that's not a feature but a bug...

Re: AI sync on multiplayer servers
I assume that none of the developers foresaw us to even put AIs on multiplayer maps. If so, then I'd say it's clearly our determination's fault
Re: AI sync on multiplayer servers
But we can put AI on multiplayer maps and there was a online coop half developed.StormUndBlackbird wrote:I assume that none of the developers foresaw us to even put AIs on multiplayer maps. If so, then I'd say it's clearly our determination's fault

Re: AI sync on multiplayer servers
As Roger has said in my thread about SRV record support, the only changes they are making are things like one-line code changes. They're not changing large chunks of code. Enabling AI on MP maps would require a lot of code changes and additions.

We don't know since we don't have the original code, maybe it was half implemented or it is just a bug that the AI doesn't syncCortexian wrote:As Roger has said in my thread about SRV record support, the only changes they are making are things like one-line code changes. Pretty sure it was never something they intentionally planned to implement.

But... but... I just want Halo to survive two decades more...Cortexian wrote:Pretty sure it was never something they intentionally planned to implement.

Re: AI sync on multiplayer servers
Well it doesn't need AI in multiplayer to do that.
The patch we are getting from Roger is to make sure that Halo multiplayer keeps working + some basic code updates. They are very simple and quick code changes, nothing complicated.

Yes, but at least to make it easier for kornmann or other modders to do so...Cortexian wrote:Well it doesn't need AI in multiplayer to do that.

Re: AI sync on multiplayer servers
I remember reading somewhere that Bungie had to change a lot of networking code to the Halo engine for Halo 3 to allow COOP over the internet and such. Couldn't something be implemented by the community that would force all the clients in the session to load at the same time (e.g, Halo Xbox) to make it look like device machines and such are syncing? (but are in reality just taking the same path for everyone).
I assume AI would be out of the question for something like that.

Re: AI sync on multiplayer servers
Here is a mod I think that is on OS and forces AI syncing. It has its glitches but seams to work and maybe it might be finished.

Re: AI sync on multiplayer servers
I'm pretty sure that there is a coop mod for halo 2 campaign. Also AI can be synced without OS, like in this map: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=6036
