No URL-shortening here please

URL shortening services (eg. adf.ly, bit.ly, etc) can be useful in some circumstances where space is limited (eg. in Halo chat).
But there's no need for them in these forums and they will not be permitted here. Besides being a waste of time they can also be abused to hide the destination URL, or to include ads or malware to make money for the person providing the link.
I want URL's here to be as transparent as possible. If you use a shortened or redirected URL in a post here your post will be edited or removed. Please PM me to discuss having your post restored.
And if you need a shortened URL for other purposes, I recommend goo.gl (run by Google, free, no ads, no malware, no sign-up required). For example, if you need to send someone a short URL to direct them to Halo Fixes, you can use "goo.gl/SL86HF".
